Teresa Perkins, President of Royal T Interiors, has proven to be a woman with vision, talent and uncontested wisdom. Because of these attributes she has earned the title of Designer Extraordinaire. Teresa showed her passion for interior design at a young age and began experimenting with textures, fabrics and colors. Her talent was evident and her family and friends relied on her insight for interior design. She soon realized there was a career in the interior design industry. She had found her niche and knew that her dream could be realized so she enrolled in The American Business Institute of Illinois. Subsequently, she moved from her native Chicago to Las Vegas and attended the Art Institute. Teresa also had the opportunity to mentor with a talented interior designer in Chicago.
While her husband served in the US Air Force, Teresa had the opportunity to travel overseas. During that time, she was able to learn many different techniques from other cultures. These new techniques gave her the opportunity to decorate homes in Japan.
Teresa worked diligently in all aspects of the furniture business to further enhance her knowledge. While working in furniture retail as a design consultant, she received numerous sales awards and rave reviews from her clients. It wasn’t long before Teresa realized she wanted to have her own interior design business. So, being determined, she stepped out on faith and resigned from her high-paying management position. With dedicated study and rigorous testing, new opportunities began to come her way. She believes with faith, prayer, perseverance and tenacity there is nothing you can’t accomplish!
Teresa is now living her dream. With inspiration and style, she is fulfilling the dreams and needs of her clients with her own Interior Design company. Teresa has been featured in The Las Vegas Home & Garden magazine, Urban Avenue magazine, Condo Living~Las Vegas Style and in the Las Vegas Business Press. Teresa has also appeared on the “Corner for Success” radio show and designed the stage for the world-renowned Poet & Historian Dr. Maya Angelou (lectures in Las Vegas and Seattle in 2008). Teresa is a member of The Association of Interior Design, The International Furniture & Design Association and The Society of African-American Interior Designers.
